Jeff's Journey: 2018

Jeff's Journey will be a place where family and friends can come to get updates on our dad's condition and progress. We have a long road ahead of us and we hope that this blog can serve not only as a place for updates but also as a journal of strength and remembrance. We have faith in our Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ and we know that through our faith and perseverance our dad will be healed. Though we have been told that the chances are slim (1 in 200,000) that our dad will walk again, we will be by his side to help him beat those odds. Our dad will make it through this challenging trial and we will be there to help him every step of the way! We love you DAD & GRANDPA!!

Helping Others Ride

Hey Everyone!

This year is going well. I have been able to help several programs in Utah for the disabled set up road handcycles like mine. Many other quadriplegics will now be able to try these handcycles and see that they can do it. I feel great knowing that others will be able to enjoy what I enjoy. Without power assist and voice shifting it's very difficult for a quadriplegic to ride a handcycle. These improvements will open up the world of handcycling to many others.The link below is of me demonstrating voice shifting with XShifter and how power assist with a coaster brake works. Also, below is a link to the website of electrifybike.com. I've partnered with them to help convert these handcycles and any other bike to power assist. It feels great to be doing something that can help others who are disabled find joy in riding bikes like I have been able to do.

So far it's been a good year!

Hi Everyone,
Last year was a goodyear, much better than the year before . My cycling improved a lot with the power assist. I've had the opportunity recently to go skiing with the National Ability Center at Park City and it has been so much better than last years ski season. I look forward to each day that I get to go skiing and I have a good time. I've been able to learn and improve because it's such a great program. I'm so very thankful each and every day for the people who take me skiing to the people who run the program.
