Day 71, Monday Nov. 2
Today wasn't the best. The first half of the day was okay, the last half not so much.
Jeff struggled to do certain transfers in therapy. He says he forgot things he should have remembered. With everything he's learning it's really no wonder he doesn't forget things more often.
He had some frustration with the internet at the hospital. They have a secure line, but wouldn't give him access to it. He was unable to do some things he really wanted to do.
To keep it short they are delaying their travel plans and will not be going on their cruise in January after all. Traveling is one of Jeff's main hobbies. It's an important part of his life and we look forward to the day when he can go on a new adventure away from home.
Right now his focus is on learning how to live with his condition. There are so many aspects of this that he and Annette are still figuring out. It will take time and patience. He will travel again, just not as soon as we'd like.
In the afternoon they worked him extra hard in therapy which left him hurting and exhausted. He got back to his room and crashed. It was not a great end to the day physically or emotionally.
A huge thank you to Bonnie for coming to visit! It was a good distraction for our dad and much appreciated!
He went to bed at 8:15pm, much earlier than usual. We hope he gets some good rest and has a better day tomorrow!
Kameron Hanson, Jeff's nephew, installed the plumbing, toilet, faucets, and drains in the bathroom today at home. We are so grateful for all of his hard work and dedication! Pictures to be posted soon.
A huge thank you for everyone who has helped at the hospital and at home for the remodel. There are so many people who have contributed to our efforts and it has made all the difference in the world. Our family thanks you all!
