Jeff's Journey will be a place where family and friends can come to get updates on our dad's condition and progress. We have a long road ahead of us and we hope that this blog can serve not only as a place for updates but also as a journal of strength and remembrance. We have faith in our Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ and we know that through our faith and perseverance our dad will be healed. Though we have been told that the chances are slim (1 in 200,000) that our dad will walk again, we will be by his side to help him beat those odds. Our dad will make it through this challenging trial and we will be there to help him every step of the way! We love you DAD & GRANDPA!!

Day 87, Wednesday Nov. 18

Day 87, Wednesday Nov. 18

Today was business as usual. Therapy went well and Jeff worked hard. More and more of his time is being spent preparing for his homecoming.

They worked to set things up for the medical supply vendor to bring them the things they will be needing once they are home. This will include supplies to care for Jeff's suprapubic catheter.

Annette says, "We are just trying to get all our ducks in a row."

A woman named Natalie came to see Jeff and Annette today. She was a previous patient on the floor with a similar injury. As they were talking the subject of muscle atrophy came up. Natalie hasn't experienced as much atrophy in her legs as expected. She told them that it's because she's been using a standing chair for a couple of hours a day.

Jeff's good friend Brad Frost came to stay with him tonight so Annette could go home. It's great for Jeff to have that distraction when so much is weighing on his mind. We are grateful for everyone who helps provide that reprieve.

We ask you all to please pray with us that this transition will go smoothly. There is a lot of anxiety mixed with a pinch of fear for this next big step for Jeff and our family. We will need all the help we can get in the days to come.
