Jeff's Journey will be a place where family and friends can come to get updates on our dad's condition and progress. We have a long road ahead of us and we hope that this blog can serve not only as a place for updates but also as a journal of strength and remembrance. We have faith in our Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ and we know that through our faith and perseverance our dad will be healed. Though we have been told that the chances are slim (1 in 200,000) that our dad will walk again, we will be by his side to help him beat those odds. Our dad will make it through this challenging trial and we will be there to help him every step of the way! We love you DAD & GRANDPA!!

Day 68, Friday October 30

Day 68, Friday October 30

A lot was accomplished today, at the hospital and at home. It was Peggy's day to stay with Jeff until Annette got off work. Fridays have become special to both of them as they get time together to learn, grown, and reflect.

We are grateful for all that Jay and Peggy do to help our dad and to help prepare for his homecoming. We would be lost without them, no doubt!

Jeff took a nap and it turned out as bad as usual. He woke up with his chest feeling tight, his arms fuzzy, and generally feeling like poop. He says, "It's the pits."

Despite that, he continued on with his day and worked hard. In therapy he worked on getting on and off the therapy bench in place of a bed and transfers in and out of the wheelchair.

Jeff's aunt Kathy came to visit and brought homemade bread, jam, and cookies. Thank you for being so thoughtful Kathy, yum!!

All that shopping yesterday was for today's lunch! Jeff made his own sandwich, from getting the supplies out to spreading on the pb&j. He did a great job!

Peggy and Jeff went on a little adventure to another building on the hospital's campus to pick up his new CPAP machine. Annette will be taking it home for him to await his homecoming.

Annette came for the evening and they watched a movie together. She wanted to get a picture for us of them in the bed, but no one has  taught her how to take a selfie with her phone yet. That will be remedied soon!

At Jeff's shop Ron worked on the new truck. He turned the rotors and replaced the break shoes. There's been a little more work needed than expected and we are very grateful for Ron's help to get it ready for when Jeff gets home.

Perry Jones was at the house working to fix the tile in Annette's bathroom. Hopefully when he's done she won't stub her toes anymore!

Every day we get closer to Jeff coming home. He's working hard to be ready and with the help of many willing hearts and hands we are also getting closer to being ready. Thank you all for your loving service, our entire family has been touched by your willingness to help our dad!
