Day 66, Wednesday October 28
Today was much like any other day. Jeff reports that he is starting to feel better! His therapy focused a lot on how Annette can help him transfer from the wheelchair to the bed and back. She also learned how to help him slide up in bed by herself.
Annette went to lunch with her good friend Janene Shaw and had a great time. She deserved a break after all that hard work!
Josh, the OT, helped to rig Jeff's deodorant so he can put it on without help. It's amazing the little things we take for granted that we don't even think about. As Jeff learns how to perform these once simple tasks, we are constantly reminded how blessed we are to be able to do the same tasks unhindered.
The Elder's Quorum president from Jeff's ward came to visit with one of his counselors. Their friendships have meant a lot to Jeff and we are grateful for their diligence in visiting as often as they do.
Bonnie Fischer, Jeff's aunt from Peggy's side, came and stayed the evening so Annette could go home. We are so grateful to her for giving of her time to serve our family!
It was an encouraging day with Jeff having more energy to put into therapy and work as hard as he likes. Productive days help keep his mind busy and make counting blessings so much easier for all of us. Our prayers have been heard and answered! We continue to pray for more days like today.
